disclaimer: i have no beef with the Pope. i support him. i pray for him. i bless him. i wish him totally well. he's an ally of all people that strive to empower the week the meek that seek to elevate from prejudice and hate the downtrodden the workers of the world etc.
This is no joke!
having interacted with friends of the Vatican on an empowerment project or two over the years i'm a quick study of what constitutes a man of the times a leader of the flock an example for the masses. in this man Francis it's patently clear that spirituality as a whole, all spiritually minded people for that matter are being served well by his tenure. one particualarly telling discussion i had with a deservedly proud high level Vatican official upon pope Francis's election was: i said as an Orthodox Feminist Jewess "I'm jealous! i wish we could get him for our team". i did say that rather jocularly that if it'd be up to me i'd trade woody allen, harvey weinstein... and throw in george soros(only if i'd have to, in order to sweeten the pot or seal the deal). of course on the pope's recent visit to the hol-y land in my own humble way i did indeed pull some strings /arrange for him behind the scenes to make his visit MOST memorable , way more memorable than the state of israel could've fathomed and wished for him.

Time to be called to task: it wouldn't be sane to call Islam the enemy. The enemy is our own desire not to reach out and interact with those that have less than ourselves. For many generation WE the west have wholeheartedly thwarted Islamic life in Egypt just to make a few French bankers satisfied to that end we propped up nitwit kings and commoners alike just to make sure the Suez Canal was open for business(sic).

bottom line: we the west have no problems keeping fervent muslims in check in Egypt by routinely torturing , arresting, clandestine murdering etc etc to again keep the canal "paying" dividends.
